Here's what you can do to begin. Set yourself up a budget. Yes, the terrible "b" word. In this budget you will include key expenses with one addition - an emergency fund.

You will be able to pay off your debt swifter and observe a tapering off of the anxiety levels, if you stick to that budget. Imagine the relief and the overwhelming sensation of pride once all your debt is wiped out. Not to mention the absence of the anxiety.

Another cause of stress is working too much. Both you and your family can suffer due to the long hours at work.

Set up some rules regarding your workplace to help alter this. During the time at your place of employment leave your personal life at the elevator bank. Pick it up when you go home for the day and vice versa. When you leave work don't take any part with you. Make it a rule not to think about work outside of the workplace. When you're with your family, give them your exclusive attention. They deserve it.

Another stressor for may people is their inability to say "no". It can be quite stressful to say yes to everyone who asks for your assistance. When you say yes to too many people who ask, you end up not taking care of yourself. It's all right to say no at times. Assist others when you are able, but don't go overboard.

Restrict your aid to one person at a time. Be careful of those that are abusive in their demands for help. Family and friends especially. Teach them to assist themselves. It is utterly OK to expect something from them in return. That will also empower the soul you are helping.

Take on one problem at a time. You can easily yield to stress if you extend yourself too thin. It's o.k. to acknowledge your limitations. Don't over extend yourself.

There are numerous things that cause stress. Take inventory of your life and discover where your stress is coming from. Then take deciding action to keep down that stress.
